Any dental treatment in the mouth affecting all the teeth is called “full mouth rehabilitation” or “full mouth reconstruction”. The main goals of a typical full mouth rehabilitation treatment are to replace the lost tooth structure, the collapsed bite and the lost vertical dimension of the face as a result from that. The benefit of this treatment is not only a restored and functional mouth at proper position but also the re-establishment of the oral health and aesthetic appearance of the smile and face in general.
This type of treatment is highly individualized and it can include fillings, inlays/onlays, crowns, bridges, veneers, dental implant restorations and dentures, or a combination of these.
Aside from the restorative procedures, full mouth reconstructions might require the involvement of other disciplines in dentistry, such as oral surgery, orthodontics, endodontics and periodontics.
